This Mini Paint Can project
is a nice, quick way to make any gift extra special. You can fill this can with tissue paper,
candy, little presents and goodies. It
would make a great Valentine for your loved one or a hostess gift for a
party. You can customize this to any theme
by choosing different papers and embellishments.
Supplies:
1 Quart Paint Can
Basic Grey Blush Papers
Basic Grey Chipboard Mini
Monos
Prima Flowers (Stone Rose Minnie Can 3 & Stone Rose Quick Picks)
Making Memories Pebble Brads
Adirondack Paint Dauber – Shell Pink
ATG Adhesive Gun
Ink
Glue Dots
Directions:
1. Cut a strip of paper 12” x 4 ½”. Cut another strip of the same paper 2” x 4
½”. Adhere the larger to the can. Adhere the smaller strip to the can (overlapping
the edge of the larger strip) - covering the entire surface.
2. Cut a strip of contrasting paper 12”
x 3 ½”. Tear and ink long edges.
3. Adhere this strip to can making sure
the ends start on the side of the can without the paper seam. The paper seam is the “back” of the can. The ends won’t meet – this is OK. We are going to cover this up.
4. Cut a 3 ½” square. Ink edges.
Adhere it centered over the gap mentioned in step 3.
5. Paint chipboard with dauber. I chose the first initial of my recipient so
she can use the can for other things once I give it to her. Let dry.
Ink edges. Adhere to center of
square.
6. Further embellish square with more
Prima flowers and pebble brads.
7. Cut a circle that is 3 ¼” in
diameter. I just used my son’s math
compass to trace one and I cut it out with scissors. Ink edges.
Adhere to can top.
8. Layer two large white flowers (one
smaller than the other) and attach pebble brad through middle. Adhere to can lid with a glue dots.
